Rinpoche turned 58 years old in 1998, when he was invited to Beijing by the Chinese Society of Religious Studies. This was the first time Rinpoche ever went to the Han land. The monks and lay disciples in the hometown, tears in the eyes, saw off Rinpoche.

On September 16th of that year, a symposium was held in Beijing, joined by a dozen of experts, professors, Tibetan studies researchers, and Chinese Buddhist researchers from the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences.

The meeting started with a theme researching on Rinpoche’s decades of practice in Tibetan Esoteric Buddhism. The studies on Rinpoche’s bodily experience of practice have prompted the development of somatic science of today and provided valuable the theoretical and practical basis for further studies into human potentials.

Rinpoche’s practice experience has a strong scientific foundation, and it has proven to prolong life expectancy and to cast a harmonious spell, which serves to help preserve a peaceful world. And it also provides an uncommon solution to the research on Tibetan studies and Buddhism.

During the seminar, Rinpoche gave detailed answers to the questions proposed by various scholars. In the end, all the attending experts rejoiced in Rinpoche’s merits, offered Khata to the great siddha, and took the commemorative photos together, honoring this lifetime opportunity. Rinpoche received the certificate of “Special Expert of Tibetan Studies” in the end.

The seminar came to a fruitful end on September 20th. Afterwards, Mr.ZHAO Puchu, President of the Chinese Buddhist Association and also a lay practitioner, and Mr. YANG Tongxiang, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Religious Affairs, further invited Rinpoche for a more profound discussion.

On May 27th, 2000, arranged by the State Administration of Religious Affairs, at the China Advanced Buddhist College, Rinpoche met with Vice President Mr.CAO, Ngadzong Rinpoche, Professor Sogyal, Palden Danjuan (Director of the Sakya Management Committee and Vice Chairman of the Tibetan Buddhist Association), and other persons alike. Making an example of himself, Rinpoche emphasized on the actual practice and realization of the Vajrayana of Tantra, and further introduced how his practice and realization confirmed the four-ear transmission, three aspects and three continuations, and the Aggregate Realms in the Sakya’s Lamdre teachings.

All the people present took rejoice in and praised Rinpoche's merits, prayed for the consummate accomplishments of Rinpoche’s practice and the long-life for the cause of Dharma promotion and of liberating all sentient beings.
